Apr 17, 2018Dorothy Lee Vick, 87, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, from the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Phillips Cemetery in Algood.The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 1, and from noon until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.Mrs. Vick passed away on Friday evening, Sept. 29, 2017, at Bethesda Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cookeville.She was born May 1, 1930, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Alexander and Henrietta Thompson Stringer.Mrs. Vick was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church and a member of the Friendship Sunday school class.She was formerly employed at Keene Corporation and retired from Cookeville Regional Medical Center.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Deena Vick of Cookeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Doug Craven of Hixson, Tennesee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Maxine Stringer of Franklin, Tennessee, and Harlon and Frances Stringer of Alabama; five grandchildren, Duane Vick, David Vick, Dr. Stephen (Angela) Craven, Dr. Rob (Abby) Craven and Rachel Craven; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Dorothy, Madison and Mallory Craven; and special friends, Junior and June Vickers and Glyn and Joyce Gentry.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vick; two brothers, AJ and Harvie Stringer; and three sisters, Nathline Frazier, Wanda Redmon and Linda Bryant.Pallbearers will be family and friends.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday school class.
